F&B Exec for Some of America’s Best Known Restaurants and Resorts Addresses CIA Graduates

Hyde Park, NY – Sabato Sagaria, chief restaurant officer for Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG), was commencement speaker at the New York campus of The Culinary Institute of America on July 8. Mr. Sagaria oversees the centralized functions of some of New York City’s most acclaimed restaurants, such as Gramercy Tavern, The Modern, Union Square Café, and Maialino.

Before joining USHG, Mr. Sagaria directed food and beverage operations at The Little Nell in Aspen, CO. His career in food and hospitality leadership has also included such renowned destinations as The Inn at Little Washington in Washington, VA; The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, WV; and the Four Seasons Resort in Palm Beach, FL. He appeared in the documentary films Somm and Somm: Into the Bottle.

Mr. Sagaria spoke to 52 recipients of CIA associate degrees in culinary arts and baking & pastry arts. The entire graduation ceremony can be .
